DCUO: Pay-to-play no more

With SOE announcing that DCUO is going to be a free download and free to play, is anyone considering getting this and which side would they join - Hero or Villain?

Personally, I think I will pick this up and head down the route of the Hero.

Just installing it now. 15MB of data to download lol and taking ages. Do you playing it much as and is it any good?

Its actually way more fun that I thought it would be. Haven't played it in about a week - but it's pretty cool. Chances we we will be in the same server so we'll have to catch up and work together - you really need a couple of people to go some of the boss fights. They can be pretty tough - though I did take down Queen Bee by myself. I was pretty happy about that.

Gunna let this download however long its gunna take and ill see how it is and possibly we can catch up and play some DCUO

hmmm....interesting...hero for me.

YEah I have a hero - uses Ice powers, flies and martials arts combat style called Max Zero.

I haven't got around to creating a Villan yet.

It took ages for me about a week on and off - I guess there were sooo many people trying to dl it at the time - but all in all a fun mmo.

Never played a MMO before so it'll be interesting to see what its like think i may cancel it and download it while i sleep lol wanna play something

So is it good?

Depends if you are geeky on super heroes. I like it. I think it's quite a fun game and I think it would be more fun partying up and taking on missions in a group.

Im geeky on superheroes, but im much more of a marvel fan, is it based on dc heroes or did dc just make it?

SoE made the game, but heavily influenced by DC so no marvel characters there. I mean it is set in Gotham and Metropolis. I even think the story is written by one of the DC stalwarts but I'm just not sure who.

I was massively into this game when it was released have Like 3 chars at what was then the max level (30) dunno if was changed yet and even started on getting my tier set, I loved it thought everything about it was cool, the quests the voice acting the levels, basic story which is what you get for an mmorpg.
If there are members of the clan willing to get into this game more I'm all for that especially as its now free to play I stopped when the Psn got hacked and couldn't play for over a month and that's when sadly a lot of the other aus players left also so some of the harder quests I couldn't do alone, as my main is a healer.

So yeah I'm keen and willing to jump back into the game if others wanna join up, be cool to run instances and quest together.

I haven't been on for ages and my kids keep asking me to play it. They love watching me play DCUO. I really should jump on again. It's a fun wee game.

Damn this post, I am now craving playing this game again, hopefully my account is still active as I'm gonna be jumping back on when I finish work.

Would be awesome if we managed to get a few players (4 at least) on the same server so we could quest.

As i said I'm getting back on the bandwagon, won't be full time but really keen on super heroing it up, might be able to recruit some in game players to the clan also cas which would be cool

How big is it skinny? And I guess it depends on your internet speed, I read somewhere that's its 15gig.... dunno if that's right or not, if it is that big then its worth spending the $23 aus to buy it pre owned at eb games
I'm running ADSL 2+ and 15gig would take me at least 4+ hrs at max speed (which I rarely get)

As I've previously stated I would love to have some people to play online with, we could all get together and play once a month to run instances and stuff so it doesn't take away time from our main games.

Yeh it is 15g and I'm also running ADSL 2+. Think I'll do what the boys did and just d/l while sleeping because $23 can buy me like 5 beers. Patience is a virtue.

I decided to download it and have a night off gaming for tonight. So just a little update on how long it's taken me so far.
1 hour and 44 mins - annnnnnnnnddd a whopping 14% complete. So it should be ready at like 3am if im lucky lol

I've got a copy from when it was released but still need to do a 6 gig update lol

Damn! i did download it but it wasnt for me. although the open cutscene was FUCKING epic. Best ive seen in a long long time

I know, its tough as shit, Batman is massive in it and they dont hold back at all, was highly impressed with it, they need to do more like that

I think it took me a few hours to dl it, then another 1 or so to patch the freaking thing. I think I may have to start playing this again, now that there are a few peeps who are looking at playing it.

I'm not likely to pay NZ$25 a month to get legendary status so that I can start a League, though it would be damn cool to have a TLCG presence there. Just a few guys partying up would be cool though.
