Patch is Coming?!?!!!!

One could assume that we won't be seeing it 'til around April/May given that they aren't even sure if they can release a solid date.

should be a good patch once release, and probably and freaking huge one as well.

I'm not looking forward to the fact that most of the patch updates are negative i.e. most things consist of adjusting in a downward fashion or removing features. I think BF3 is going to steadily get worse overall. One of the one things that has been singled out is the concept of flares affected laser-designated targets. Seems silly and also makes the lock-jammer obsolete. Silly BF3 developers XD

IMHO the only thing I really dislike is the 12g Frag rounds for shotguns.

Yeah! And whilst we're at it wheel remove landing gear for jets and that little thing that fires out of the tanks...what're they called...shells?

If there's one thing I've learnt with you guys between the rather traumatising group hugs and being slaughtered on Metro is that a challenge is a good, not something that you should just nerf or remove until we're playing the same game every round XD

Oh oh oh! We could remove the steering wheels in the jeeps too! =P

Online services for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 will be going offline March 20th at 9 AM UTC / 1 AM PST until 10 AM UTC / 2 AM PST. Battlefield 3 online multiplayer and the Battlelog services will be unavailable during this time.


Oh and Phil - how about this for a patch suggestion re the "find game functionality": DICE PLEASE DO NOT DROP ME INTO F*#KING GAMES THAT HAVE ONLY 1-2s REMAINING!

I think we can all agree on that one - it's so frustrating....

Good to see the patch is finally going ahead, but after thinking loads on this, I still can't really figure out why a lot of these changes are being made, other than the simple fact that the devs don't want people to use the same loadouts (silencer and foregrip I believe) all the time and so are tweakng each weapon to change every attachment.

Yes there are probably a lot of changes that need to be made, but the weapons don't really need changing too much. What I would like to see is the addition of ammo types to balance out the shotgun a but. That would be a nice change.

The only thing that matters to me is what they do to the shotguns and to the M4A1, and their not gonna change the M4A1

yeah I not too fussed about anything except nerfing 12g frag rounds, improving stingers so you can actually have a shot at shooting down jets/helos and doing away with the Malev as an offensive weapon.

Oh and I could live with them further nerfing the flashlight - it still seems insanely bright outdoors.

However I agree with Phil in that I don't want them to REMOVE any aspect of the game - just tweak it a bit.

I wouldn't be too worried about the 12g Frag rounds if they were more like the M320. You can have normal 12g Rounds and also have say 3-5 Frag rounds to use as well. That I think is possibly a good balance to the game.

So frustrating it hurts, Azeg XD And I think that maybe I'm too accepting but no weapons need nerfing aside of the shotguns. They're making stingers better I think, but reducing their range? Not sure how that's going to work out. They are genuinely covering some -real- problems, but then they're further fucking shit over by adding even more into the mix. If they addressed core issues - Shotguns, Malevs, glitches and such then we'd be fine. Less big updates, more concise smaller updates.

REducing the ranghe on a stinger? Man, it's woefully short aready, adn making it shorter still?

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I think it said!

I actualyl don't mind if they reduce the range - the problem is that it is simply impossible to hit a pilot with the stinger who knows how to fly and properly use their flares - that is my concern

Reducing the range means that pilots can still seek to escape, but cannot basically ignore stingers - I could live with that

I think this says a lot about where the player base thinks DICE'S priorities should lie!!!!!!!

I saw that poll too and lol'd, but I think the rent-a-servers should be second on the list because thats a huge oversight on DICE's part

To my mind focussing on the expansions ahead of the patch is like focussing on buying really nice new hubcaps for your BMW rather than fixing the sputtering engine...
