minecraft a lil help.....

hi all,

so ive recently joined TLCGs minecraft server and after a quick look around town with a lil building here and there, i quickly found myself dead from a skeleton.

today when i logged back in to resume, i found myself unable to build and trapped inside a monestary that i didnt recognise from my quick walk through earlier.... after several attempts to log out and in, i spawned outside and this monestary was 'on the apex of the world' and so i used the giant waterfall to get back down, got lost, fell in a hole and was trapped down there (i wasnt able to build) until along came a spider to put me out of my misery.....

ummmm.....so yeah.... need a lil help, am i in the right server? any ideas on why i cant build (bowlington gave me access to build yester) and erh.... did i do something wrong to have my build privalleges locked? ie did i collect something i shouldnt have or build somewhere that wasnt vacant?

a lil lost.....

anyways, thats my drama for tonight....

so i jumped back on the server and after avoiding the giant waterfall i followed the path..... which went on forever and then i fine myself in Skyrim as i reach riverwood and make my way to waterfall?

i dont think im in the right place..... but im using the right IP and the server names does show tlcg.....sigh......

Sorry con thats the new world we built for the people who join from the public, your in the right place just in the wrong world. I will set it so that you can get back to black mesa, in the meantime, try typing /warp portals this should teleport you to the portal building in the Black Mesa township. If it works correctly then use that to come back to town instead of /spawn which will keep taking you back to the monastery. Its set like this so that people from the public world can't get into our Black Mesa world and grief it. The reason you can't build in that part of the new world is that it is protected and only a few people can build there i.e. Phil, big, and myself. That again is an antigriefing measure. You didn't do anything wrong that locked you out, thats supposed to be like that so that random people cant destroy my mountain and burn down my forest and my tree house.

I thought I was going nutz - you guys have donned one some serious building there!
The only prob I saw was that there was no early sign that said welcome to tlcg server and you couldn't open up the boxes to pick up the items the signs tell you too and you couldn't rest in the bed in the tree house and maybe there should be a more obvious arrow that points to the path when leaving the monestary.... Now I feel like a guinea pig heheeh

I know the things I listed are because I couldn't build due to the anti griefing measures you mentioned, but when the signs are saying one thing and you can't do it it's a lil frustrating. Also I had a lot of trouble getting out the monestary.

Feel free to ignore all of the above if it's meant to be like that if y'all are still working on it.

Cool thanks for trying that stuff out, some of that stuff I knew about and some I didn't. I'm gonna work on it tonight after work. Did the warp command work? Or did it tell you that you didn't have permission?

I haven't tried it. Only way to work atm, will check when I get home.

I think the probs I had were due to the no build restrictions I couldn't interact with things, so I couldn't open chests or doors or beds and work benches.

Also....... Please tell me you guys are going to build a dragon at some point lol.

One thing aswell i loggedinto the MP and i arrived in the public spawn area but all my tools i previously had from playing on Black Mesa and my level 10 XP all gone too

Oh and you should maybe consider a funny sign at the bottom of the waterfall for people who go down it like I did (it was like an epic water slide lol)

Maybe even a way back up? Like a hidden ladder or something.

Theres a flag that I need to set for the spawn area that will fix several of your concerns, will get that cleared up tonight. I need to do something about that waterfall not sure about what just yet. If theres gonna be a dragon it'll be built by someone else, my specialty is architecture, infrastructure, and terraforming.

Maybe change the water to lava and make the starting area a volcano?

I thought about that but I'm trying to keep with the skyrim theme, and lava doesn't really fit. I might put something secret down there...

Heya, the /warp portals command didn't work as I don't have access to that command.

Im in the same boat. Stuck in that place with no permission to build. I also have no inventory left anymore... /warp command dont work for me either, cant use /home either.

I think I have found the underlying problem, I have messed with you guys permissions and you should now have a green name when you log in and the warp commands should work just fine. I also set the flags for both the mountain and jungle so that you can use the beds, the chests, doors, button, levers, etc.

i can build in the world now (and interact with things), but im not able to perform any commands and therefore cant use the warp portal command to get back to black messa

No commands at all? Even defaults can use commands, what is it telling you?

hmmm well lets hope im doing it right as im still kinda new to minecraft....

i press 'T' to bring up the text box and then im typing '/warp portals' and nothing happens.

red writing appears which says 'you do not have access to that command'

uh, I hate permissions, they don't ever wanna work right, i'm gonna go in game, log in real quick if you can and i'll teleport you manually.

If this becomes a permanent problem we could have a portal area that is disallows access to anyone other than designated members?

I just need to straighten out the perms and groups. There may be a formatting problem somewhere that im overlooking.

@Bow is there a warp to the area we were building at yesterday because after burning to death in lava lol i arrived back at the monastry. And bad luck losing 6 diamond too lol

Ya I Pm'd it to you big, don't want that warp out in the open, could be dangerous. I also went afk for 2 minutes to respond to an email after collecting 3 more diamonds and a zombie killed me out of nowhere, so yesterday I was 0-9 diamonds.

That's why we have a disconnect button! =P
