How do you know if your a probationary member?

There's two ways.
1) have a look at the clan roster. It's split into the various parts of the clan Founder, Admins, members, etc.
2) Down at the bottom in the who is online box there is a legend that shows the different colours for all to look at. Members are green, probationary members are gold.
All members who have registered before today are automatically full members - so don't worry about having to go through this stage squirrel. You're already there.

I'll have to try and make one quick to show you. Badges will be small icons that will be awarded to members for achieving ingame goals. They are basically a bragging post to show off to other members what you have done. They are going to be quite small so you will be able to have a whole lot displayed (if you meet the requirements of course).
Just a fun thing to show off to yoru clan mates and generate a bit of friendly competition.
