This is the post to talk about the different places we all come from. Cultural differences around the world such as, music, politics, and day to day life, all from the point of view of the people who live there. I'm from the USA and I would be happy to answer any questions about living in Florida or the US in general.

i got a question for the English...
Why did you kick us out of you country?
But more so... Why did you punish us by sending us to a place with Sun and beautiful beaches while you got to keep the cloudy weather and beaches with rocks instead of sand? Razz

That's an age old question skinny, I was born in the UK and my mates ask me that all the time, especially when yhe queen is discussed or how the British once ruled the world or cricket lol.
my best answer is that it seemed like a good idea at the time, we didn't know what was there and we felt that our homeland was the greatest, that's our mentality, plus the arrogance of the British at the time would not ha e allowed them to send the lords over due to the extreme conditions the boats faced.

stupid idea over all, but my family made the right choice when we left, if only Melbourne could get theory weather right tho......

Britain is an incredible place in terms of the non-lethality. We practically live in a bubble in that there's no dangerous creatures and no dangerous weather. Australia was great because it was the equivalent of killing people (in that it was quite literally a one-way trip) but without, of course, killing. So all the convicts could just be shipped off to a distant land never to be heard of again. We're experiencing a major prison-population boom at the moment actually, so if you want some more migrants we have them by the handfuls. "True History of the Kelly Gang" is a great book to give you an idea of how/why people began populating Australia, as well as the culture of the era.
