DICE: PS3/360 owners 'definitely not getting less of a game' with Battlefield 3

In a recent interview with Edge, Battlefield 3 Producer Patrick Liu aimed to squash a few lingering conception that Battlefield 3 will be a lesser experience on the consoles, and built mainly for the PC.

When asked about the inclusion of fewer players online, and smaller multiplayer maps for consoles, Liu had the following to say:

"They're definitely not getting less of a game." commented Patrick Liu.

"It has the same amount of destruction and the same amount of visual fidelity.”

"We've scaled the maps accordingly for console so it makes the pacing all right and the balancing is good," Liu added. "If you play a big Conquest map then the map is balanced accordingly." he added.

We'll have to wait and see how Battlefield 3 fairs on console compared to its PC counterpart.

I dont think the maps need to be any bigger or need anymore players either. Its alrwsdy hectic enough with 24 player. Might 64 players running around on the same size maps lol. It would just be too chaotic to say the least.

I have to admit though, having huge maps with lots of people would make it pretty sweet

yeah maybe increasing it would make it alot better even tho its pretty good as it is. no harm in making a game mode with a large amount of players.

Imagine, obviously not for a few years, but in the future having a single server and have like a map the size of a small country with like 100,000 players that would be so crazy

MAG did it with 256 players, but for most of the game you wouldn't even know that there were that many. Great games.

But I don't actually mind that games are only 24 players. They're great fun and there is usually something going on. All that would happen with more players is that the maps would be slightly bigger and then you will have to have compromises on graphical quality and in teh destruction, which seems way less that in BC2.

yeah had MAG great game, real fun.

yeah i don't really mind but i wouldn't mind in the near furture they bring a patch that they increase the team sizes a little.

It's a funny vid that one. Then they all just pour out like a tidal wave of virtual flesh. Very cool.

meh battlefeild online is still great as it is anyway.
