Danger ! Battlefield Noob incoming

I purchased a copy of Battlefield 3 last night and has landed on my desk this morning ! Due to the following reasons:

1. Dust 514 is taking ages to come out and i need to learn to drive vehicles in game coz they will be in Dust
2. Possibility of interclan/intergame battles between MW3 and battlefield players, and also to meet more of the BF clan members
3. A Games/dvd website (Mighty Ape in NZ) has it for bout $78 and i got a further discount off that so couldnt say no really !

Look forward to playing some Battlefield but just be careful when you jump in that Helicopter/Tank etc because the person driving might not have a clue what they are doing !

PS: Any good class suggestions i usually prefer to use LMG's and Snipers ? , And also could one of the leaders add me to the BF3 Roster ? will add you guys today, cheers

Just kidding I've thought about doing the same but the more gameplay and lets plays I see of BF3 the more I realize it just isn't meant for me.

I would like to hear your thoughts and reactions to the game tho, give us an update after you play a few sessions. Who in our clan is a BF beast so we can state at him in awe.

Haha dont worry COD guys will still be playing MW3 as well specially when you get the team tactical and stuff like that going !, Just got the M60 LMG and have been doing alright with it so am keen to level that right up see how good it can get ! , Also been keeping an eye on Black Ops 2 developments looks very interesting like a MW/black ops cross with the strange robot things and that could be interesting !

Yep will def give you an update on BF multiplayer when i get into it think i will give the campaign a quick play through to get used to it:

Quick update - had a sneaky go on Battlefield campaign on lunch break intial thoughts are that it has quite a slower pace than COD ? takes longer to reload and pull up the sights etc

PS: I thought i would say in my first post that i had gone to the dark side but then i considered that COD could possibly be the dark side ??? interested in hearing people's thoughts on who they actually think is the "dark side" ??

Well, if you like LMGs and Snipers you'll want to try out teh Support or Recon class.

To be honest though, I suggest trying them all out and see what you think of each class before making a true decision. The only one I don't really play is recon, more because I just suck horribly at firing a sniper rifle than for any other reason.

Welcome to FPS - reality style!

I advise you to use assault class - medic, with M416 rifle (once unlocked) and grenade specialisation (once unlocked).

On 416 equip foregrip, RDS and flash suppressor (again, once unlocked).

Basically I'll just regurgitate what Cas has said, Support for the LMG's, Recon for sniping. Careful using the LMGs though, they're pretty hard to control, the recoil can be pretty intense. I'd recommend the M27 IAR cos it feels more tame but still deals out the damage.

I'm with Azeg about Assault as it's my preferred class. I find having the option of a grenade launcher or a med kit outweighs the benefits an ammo box can give you.

In general though, choose whatever class your team is in need of.

First thing's first man...get online with other clan members. Being a lone wolf is entirely plausible but it is a team-orientated game. I'd also try unranked at some point too as it gives you a chance to get a feel for the flying controls. Though you don't get any unlocks which sucks DX

I would suggest from the assault class the AEK or the AK74PM
Engineer class M4A1 or AKS74U

For Assault, I've cycled through the F2000, AEK and M16A3 and so far none of these guns have given me much inspiration. They're all pretty strong contenders from what I've seen though, so give them a whirl.
