Minecraft 1.2 Preview

The new Minecraft update doesn't officially release until tomorrow, but Mojang has released the .jar file for you to update yourself if you'd like to get it early. It's pretty nice, though I wouldn't update if you plan to play on the TLCG server because until Bowl updates the server you won't be able to connect. I only updated my Minecraft for Single Player, but left Spoutcraft untouched.

I sent a mass PM out to all our citizens a few minutes ago to make sure everyone knows about not upgrading. I'll send another one out when its all clear to update. I included a link to the change log for 1.2 which has got some cool stuff on it. By the way morph, have you seen a jungle biome yet?

Yeah I've been playing and the jungle biomes are AWESOME. They got these little jaguar looking cat mobs now too. The trees in the jungle go REALLY tall, and instead of the tree being one wood thick its like 2x2 wood that goes up. The moss that goes alongside the tree allows you to climb the tree as well.

I haven't updated Spoutcraft though so I can still get on with no problems.

I was waiting for the moss to be climbable, now we can make Ocarina of Time landmarks >

The update version is interesting and I expect us to have a Bioshock "Infinite" styled sky-city at some point with the new height =D

Its gonna happen. I'm also gonna tame one of those ocelots they chase creepers away!

We need to build some Iron Golems too, to defend our city with the NPCs =P

when is the server gunna be updated?

I got the email from our host today saying that I can install a beta version of 1.2.3 for the server but it has known issues, and most of our required plugins haven't been updated to the new version yet which means that alot of stuff will be broken. I am going to wait for the Recommended version of the server software to be released before updating so they can get the bugs fixed, and so that the plugin devs have time to update the plugins and I can update everything all at once. The recommended build should be out in a day or two at the most.

It's no rush, man! Ignore Matty the grumpus! =P

I'm running the dev build for 1.2.3 for CB on a private server with some guys i play with at work and it works fine with Essentials, which also doesn't have a RECOMMENDED plugin build but another DEV build....

Nothing else installed though besides the full essentials.
